Iranian cyclists carry World Peace Flame

Iranian Cyclists for Peace, Nasim Yousefi and Jafar Edrisi, are carrying the World Peace Flame with them on their tour of the world.

As soon as Nasim and Jafar heard about the World Peace Flame, they got in touch with our main office and asked if they could carry the Flame with them. “People have to know about this Flame,” said Nasim.

Nasim and Jafar’s message is one of peace, friendship and respect for the environment.  They are planting trees for peace in every country they visit, which so far includes Iran, Turkey, Greece, Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, and The Netherlands.

On 14 September they planted their 9th tree for peace in the city of Haarlem in The Netherlands, together with the World Peace Flame.

The Cyclists for Peace are now in Canada and hope to spread their message of peace throughout the American continent before finishing their journey in Asia. The trip will take about 2 years and cover some 20,000 kilometers.
