International Day of Peace
1300 children walk with the World Peace Flame!
The Hague celebrated the UN Day of Peace in style this year with more than 1300 children. Led by the Mayor of The Hague and the World Peace Flame, the children gathered at the Peace Palace where they released hundreds of white balloons for peace.
The World Peace Flame torch was carried by Troy Douglas, Dutch record holder for the 200 metres and ambassador for 'Right to Play', an organisation working with disadvantaged children around the world.
